First Baby Shower

This was the amazing cake that Jacque made and decorated.Sunday afternoon two of my greatest friends and co-workers threw me my first baby shower. Let me just tell you how awesome it was! Kristie and Jacque went above and beyond. I received some awesome gifts and felt very special. I am blessed to work with so many wonderful people.

A Pet's 10 Commandments
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is
likely to be painful.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You
have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.
5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your
voice when speaking to me.
6. Be aware that, however you treat me, I will never forget it.
7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you,
and yet, I choose not to bite you.
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if

have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

If only all pet owners understood this, we would eliminate irresponsible pet ownership. Pets change our lives for the better. Yes, they require time and energy and money but the reward of their companionship is worth much more.

We had fun!
Not sure if you can tell but it looks like a weekend at the lake is all the babies needed! They were exhausted, along with their mom, on Sunday when we came home. Bama has decided that she is a water dog. She is fearless and loves to jump in and swim. It amazes me that she is not scared especially since she doesn't swim at home at all. At one point during the weekend, we coxed Allie Mae in too. She wasn't quite as fond of swimming as I thought she would be. She didn't mind being in the water but she wanted David to hold her. I am sure he would tell you that even the best life jacket in the world has a hard time keeping him and her wiggly 7o pound self afloat! Allie not liking the water is a blessing in disguise since she has a problem with ear infections and when she gets one, it costs us a small fortune to treat! (Worth it though since she is so sweet!)
We all had a blast and are looking forward to the long July 4th weekend!

That long already?
Who would have thought that it has already been 5 years since David and I said "I Do!" When I look back over those years, it is amazing that it has been that long. I have had the best time. We have done so much in those 5 short years and I can honestly say that I have one of the greatest husbands in the world. He is the most caring and considerate man I know. His answer for everything is "Whatever makes you happy" and I honestly believe that he truly means it and doesn't say it just to appease me.
It is so much fun to learn and love and laugh with someone as awesome as David. I know it is so cliche but he truly is my best friend. How many people can honestly say they met their sole mate at 14? Like we always say, we are like peas and carrots! A lot of people can't believe that neither of us has ever dated anyone else but I am sure if you ask Dave, he feels just like me when I say I don't feel like I have missed out on anything. I have enjoyed every minute of our time together. Don't be fooled, it hasn't always been easy and there have been many times when we both look at each other and say, "This is not easy." Marriage is hard work but it is so worth it.
The one thing that amazes me most since we have been married is that I love my husband more now than I did 5 years ago. Who would have thought it possible.
Just a few fun facts of things that have happened in the last 5 years in no order:
Bought a house
Got a dog and another and another and another
Have bought 4 cars
Are expecting a baby
Watched 4 of our siblings graduate
Switched jobs
Said goodbye to family and friends
Traveled in and out of the country
and so much more.

Harrison Update
Today was my 28 week doctors visit and my Glucola test. The Glucola test checks to make sure that you have not developed gestational diabetes. I passed with flying colors! Also, my blood pressure was great. As far as the weigh in, I have stopped counting. It only makes me want to cry so if I pretend that all is well then in my eyes, it is! Nothing like lying to yourself to make you feel better!
When the doctor came in to check on me, she listened to Harrison's heartbeat and had a hard time getting a good reading because he would not stop moving around. She commented on how active he is. She also said he is growing good and all seems to be fine. Going back in four more weeks to check on the little guy.
I guess the biggest shock was when I left and was scheduling my next appointment, the nice receptionist lady told me that she needed to collect my delivery deposit of nearly $800.00. After my chin hit the floor, I politely paid and then left amazed! This is one expensive kid and he isn't even here yet. He obviously get that from his Daddy!

Movin' on up
This past weekend, we helped my parents move into their fabulous new lake house. It is amazing and I know that we will all get great use out of it and as our family grows and develops, it will suit us all well.
We pulled out of Germantown on Saturday morning with all the cars loaded down with stuff and headed to Pickwick. We spent all day Saturday unloading furniture and putting things away. I wasn't much help since I can't really lift and carry stuff but I helped as much as I could. By the time it was dark, I was worn out and my feet hurt SO bad. I hated complaining to much since I hadn't done nearly as much as everyone else!
I woke up Sunday and we out on the porch with the babies. It was early but the sun was shinning and it was peaceful. They enjoyed just running and sniffing and playing. It was nice to wake up in a nice, pretty house.
I don't know if it was on purpose or not but Mom and Dad did a good job with the layout, especially for me. Dave and I have our own room and bathroom on one end of the house with a storage room that is right next door for my babies so we can all be together and not bother anyone else. The storage room also has a door that goes directly outside so I don't have to let the babies run through the house waking everyone else up when they want to go out. It is great for us!
Sunday after Mark got done riding the Jet Ski, he got in the lake and we taught Bama how to get in and then get out on the lift. She LOVED it! I told David that we really will have to watch her so she doesn't go in when we are not there. She is a water baby for sure.
